Overview

Active breaks and shared activities in an Android app for organizations.

Groups, chat, missions, a challenge wheel and reminders form the collaborative experience. This is a development build, without clinical validation or a commercial release.

Problem

Bring short activities and social spaces together in a mobile experience for people within an organization.

My role

I participated in team development. I worked on groups derived from organizations and interests, related repositories and challenge-wheel adjustments.

Architecture

Android/Kotlin UI → ViewModels and user, group and organization repositories → Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore. Firebase Cloud Messaging supports notifications.

Technical decisions

Data separated from the interface

Repositories concentrate access to users, groups and organizations. ViewModels manage state and navigation in the Android interface.

Groups linked to interests

Derived groups relate organizations, interests and members in Firestore. Structure and membership counts are part of the adjustments made to that workflow.

Challenges and solutions

Derived-group creation must maintain relationships between organizations, interests and members in Firestore. Contributions include structure and membership-count adjustments.

Outcomes

Development app with Firebase-backed social and activity workflows. Groups connect organizations and interests, while missions track activities.
